Exercise for Lower Back Pain Care

Often over time through bad habits, poor posture and lifestyle we can start to use the back incorrectly. Thus the lower back can quickly become tired and overworked which can in turn lead to lower back pain.

Therefore we need to look at why the lower back is reacting the way it is and then start to regain its strength and mobility.

Combining lower back care exercises and the core control of Pilates has a great focus on achieving that. Consultation: Lush Fitness will Co-manage your specific condition with your back care specialist if they feel this needed.

  • An overview of your Health History
  • An overview of your lower back pain history
  • Review of your lifestyle to see how or if this is contributing to lower back pain, eg. sitting at desk all day, followed by a long commute.
  • Postural and musculature imbalance assessment
  • If appropriate to your back pain history small and gentle flexibility tests
  • Postural and musculature imbalance correction
  • In time exercises to support postural changes

From the above, you will then receive if needed direction on how to improve your posture and muscle imbalances. Poor posture can lead to muscle imbalances which in turn can either aggravate current back problems or create them. Thus it is important to start working on this first and then start looking at re-educating movement and core strength.
